Description
Naming
Aptly named after the god of lightning and thunder, Zeus hops are the “Z” in CTZ along with Columbus, Tomahawk. These three are almost indistinguishable varieties of hops, despite having different names, they are essentially the same characteristics.
Origin Story
A super high alpha variety developed in the Yakima valley as part of the Hopsteiner breeding program.
CTZ is among the most widely grown hops in the United States (second overall to Citra)
Characteristics
Our Zeus has aromas including black pepper, licorice and subtle citrus along with earthy and spicy characteristics that make it an ideal hop for IPAs, Stouts and even Lagers. It is an excellent bittering hop.
