It all began when William Gasseling Sr, emigrated from Holland to settle in the Yakima Valley, there he came to establish a family Hop farm after his arrival in 1910. By 1927, he had successfully established his own Hop farm, using horsepower as his sole means of farming. By 1947, Leo Gasseling started farming from the original homestead, which today remains as Leo Gasseling and Sons.
Today, LGS is focused on producing high quality hops with the utmost efficiency. Due to this culture, accolades continue to be given due to the current practices of LGS; not only in growing but their focus on employees, which many have remained for decades.
